What the site holds
Four sections, each built from a public record. The Top 500 lists US facelift surgeons scored by one published method. The journal holds every facelift, rhytidectomy and neck lift paper indexed in PubMed, sorted by topic and year, with plain-language summaries of the most cited and the newest. The meetings section lists the congresses and courses where facelift techniques are presented, with dates, programs and faculty. The lectures section links recorded talks and live surgeries.
Where the numbers come from
- Papers: PubMed, read through the NCBI E-utilities service. The query covers facelift, face lift, rhytidectomy, rhytidoplasty, neck lift, platysmaplasty, midface lift, deep plane and SMAS lift terms in the title or abstract. Last read 2026-09-25.
- Citations: NIH iCite, the National Institutes of Health citation index for PubMed records.
- Topics: each paper is tagged from its title, keywords and abstract against a fixed list of terms per topic. A paper can carry several topics.
- Meetings: the official meeting and society pages. Each date and faculty name carries its source link.
- Surgeons: PubMed author records, meeting faculty lists, society leadership pages, published lists such as Newsweek, and each practice's own website. The method is on the methodology page.
How the site is updated
Every Monday the site reads PubMed for records entered since the last read, tags the new papers by topic, refreshes the author counts behind the surgeon scores, and rebuilds. New meetings and lectures are added as their programs and recordings are published. The latest page shows what changed.
Summaries
Paper summaries are written from the PubMed abstract only. Each one states what the study asked, who was studied, the numbers the abstract reports, what it means for a patient and the study's limits. A summary never adds a result the abstract does not state. The full paper is linked from every summary through PubMed and the DOI.
Who publishes it
facelift.studio is published by Medical Advertising Agency, a marketing firm for surgeons. Featured surgeons are clients of Medical Advertising Agency, the publisher of facelift.studio. A featured position is a paid placement. It is shown apart from the scored list, and a featured surgeon's score and rank are computed by the same method as every other surgeon's. The list of featured surgeons is on the featured page.
Corrections
A surgeon or reader can correct a record through the contact page. Corrections to a surgeon record need a public source: a board lookup, a society page, a PubMed record or the practice website. The record is changed at the next weekly build.
Medical information
Nothing on facelift.studio is medical advice. A facelift is surgery with real risks, and the right operation depends on an examination by a board-certified surgeon. Use the research and the surgeon records to prepare questions for a consultation.
